Lamar’s 2026 club finished 34–27 overall and 19–11 in Southland play, then made a College Station NCAA Regional before losses that ended a historic postseason run. That followed a 40–17, 20–10 spring in 2025, confirming the Cardinals as a regular May threat in the SLC. Sean Allen now leads the Beaumont, Texas, DI staff after a June 2026 hire. Families recruiting into a 37-player 2027 roster should expect Southland contention and regional baseball as the program’s near-term identity under new leadership.
