Southern Miss finished 44–17 overall and 22–8 in Sun Belt play, winning the regular-season title and claiming a third conference tournament championship in four years before hosting an NCAA Regional in Hattiesburg. Christian Ostrander (tenure since 2025) leads the Hattiesburg, Mississippi, DI Golden Eagles after an early regional exit against Little Rock and Virginia. Pairing another 40-win spring with a deeper NCAA run is the clear next step. Families weighing a 52-player 2027 roster should treat Sun Belt contention and regional hosting as the near-term bar.
