A difficult Big Ten spring left Penn State 16–35 overall and 9–21 in conference play (16th), missing the tournament after stronger recent May runs. Mike Gambino (tenure since 2023) leads the University Park, Pennsylvania, DI Nittany Lions in his fourth listed season. Public season reviews cited injuries and inconsistent pitching against preseason NCAA expectations. Families weighing a 38-player 2027 roster should look for a return to .500 Big Ten baseball before projecting another tournament berth.
